There is a kind of work
no one else can see—
the unlearning,
the softening,
the sitting with what hurts
instead of turning away.
It is noticing the patterns
we once needed to survive,
and gently asking
if we still need them now.
It is learning to pause
before reacting,
to listen beneath the noise,
to meet the parts of ourselves
we have kept hidden
with a little more kindness.
Inner work is not
becoming someone new.
Perhaps it is
coming home to who you are—
beneath the expectations,
the old stories,
the fear,
and the need to have it all figured out.
Slowly,
quietly,
one honest moment at a time,
we begin to understand ourselves.
And sometimes,
that understanding
is where healing begins.
