Sometimes your feelings can feel bigger than your words. Maybe school feels tricky, friendships feel confusing, or there are things you wish someone would understand without you having to explain. You are still learning about the world—and yourself. There is no hurry. You can take your time, ask questions, make sense of your feelings, and find your own way of saying, “This is me.”
Somewhere between “I know exactly who I am” and “I have absolutely no idea”, there is adolescence. Friendships shift, expectations get louder, feelings get deeper, and suddenly everyone seems to have an opinion about who you should be. You are allowed to question, change your mind, outgrow things, and take your time becoming.
There is no handbook for the particular child you are raising, or for the parent you are becoming alongside them. Some days you may feel sure; other days, completely lost. Perhaps parenting is not about getting everything right, but about staying curious, repairing when things go wrong, and learning to offer yourself the same grace you hope to offer your child.
There can be a strange freedom—and a strange uncertainty—in becoming more yourself. Some identities are inherited, some are chosen, some are questioned, and some emerge quietly over time. You are allowed to explore without explanation, to change without apology, and to make a home in yourself that feels like your own.
Different does not mean deficient. Your mind may wander, notice, connect, feel, move, and make meaning in ways that don't always follow the expected path. Understanding your own rhythm can be less about changing who you are, and more about discovering what helps you flourish as you are.
At some point, life can become a long list of things to hold—work, relationships, family, responsibilities, career and work, expectations, decisions. You keep going, even when something inside you is asking you to pause. Perhaps there is value in putting down the weight for a moment, listening to what has been quietly asking for your attention, and finding your way back to yourself.
